Introduction to BSNL Q-5G

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), the state-owned telecom giant, has officially unveiled its 5G service under the brand name Q-5G. The announcement was made via its official handle on X (formerly Twitter). This marks a major milestone in BSNL’s journey towards next-generation connectivity.

In an interesting move, BSNL had earlier invited public suggestions for naming its 5G services, making this rollout not just a technological upgrade but also a community-driven initiative.

What is Quantum 5G FWA?

BSNL’s Quantum 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) is a cutting-edge, SIM-less broadband solution that promises lightning-fast data speeds and minimal hardware requirements. The Q-5G FWA technology eliminates the need for traditional SIM cards, relying instead on integrated network configurations to deliver “data-only” services—no voice calls, just pure high-speed internet.

Launch Details and Circles Covered

The Q-5G FWA service has been launched in select telecom circles across India. While BSNL has not publicly disclosed all the locations yet, the initial phase appears to focus on metropolitan and high-demand areas where enterprise and home broadband usage is growing rapidly.

Stay tuned to BSNL’s official announcements for a detailed list of supported circles.

Domestic Technology and Innovation

One of the highlights of the Q-5G FWA service is that it is based on “domestically developed” technology. This is in line with the Indian government’s vision for Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-reliant India) in the telecom and digital sectors.

This move not only reduces dependency on foreign tech but also boosts indigenous R&D and local employment.

BSNL Q-5G FWA Pricing

BSNL’s Quantum 5G FWA service is attractively priced at ₹999 per month, making it one of the most affordable 5G broadband solutions in the country. The pricing is expected to include high-speed data plans tailored to suit different consumer needs, especially small businesses and home users.

Future of 5G by BSNL

With the launch of Q-5G, BSNL is clearly positioning itself as a serious contender in the 5G race dominated by Jio and Airtel. The introduction of SIM-less technology and domestically developed solutions also sets BSNL apart in terms of innovation and national integration.

BSNL is expected to expand Q-5G FWA services to more circles in the coming months and may also roll out mobile 5G connectivity in future phases.
