iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max — Launched September 9
Apple’s September event brought the iPhone 18 Pro at ₹1,64,900 and the Pro Max at ₹1,79,900. The phones use the A20 Pro chip on a 2nm process and have a variable-aperture camera. Pre-orders opened on September 12 and sales began on September 18.
iPhone Duo — Announced September 9, on sale October 23
Apple’s first foldable starts at ₹2,99,900. Pre-orders open on October 16, so it’s a September announcement but an October purchase.
Samsung Galaxy S26 FE — Launched September 14, on sale September 18
Samsung priced the S26 FE at ₹79,999, lower than the roughly ₹89,000 global conversion we estimated in our August roundup. It comes in one variant, 8GB + 256GB, in Pistachio, Blueberry and Graphite. It is the first Galaxy S26 phone to ship with One UI 9 on Android 17.

- Display: 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED, up to 1,900 nits
- Chip: Exynos 2500 (3nm)
- Cameras: 50MP main with OIS, 12MP ultrawide, 8MP 3x telephoto, and a 12MP front camera

- Durability: IP68
Samsung promises seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security patches. Launch offers include up to ₹8,000 off with an exchange or ₹7,000 instant cashback on major cards (choose one).
Realme 16 Pro Harry Potter Edition — Launched September 21
This is the standard Realme 16 Pro in Hogwarts styling, with a 200MP main camera, a Dimensity 7300 Max chip and a 7,000mAh battery with 80W charging. The single 12GB + 256GB variant costs ₹62,999, roughly ₹18,000 more than the regular 16 Pro (around ₹45,000). It is a limited edition, and it reportedly went out of stock within a day.
Midrange Segment (₹25,000–₹60,000)
Vivo T5 5G — Launched September 2
The T5 has a 6.83-inch 1.5K 3D curved AMOLED at 144Hz, a Dimensity 7500 Turbo chip, a 7,050mAh battery and a 50MP Sony main camera with OIS. It has IP68 and IP69 ratings and runs OriginOS 6 on Android 16. Prices are:
- 6GB + 128GB: ₹34,999
- 8GB + 128GB: ₹39,999
- 8GB + 256GB: ₹44,999
- 12GB + 256GB: ₹49,999
It went on sale September 9 via Flipkart and Vivo’s online store.
Poco X8 and X8 Power — Launched September 4
Both phones have a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and big silicon-carbon batteries.
- Poco X8 (₹29,999): 9,000mAh battery with 67W charging and a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chip.
- Poco X8 Power (₹35,999 for 8GB + 128GB, ₹38,999 for 8GB + 256GB): 10,000mAh battery with 100W charging, a Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chip and IP69K.
Poco promises four years of OS updates and six years of security patches. Launch offers bring the effective prices to ₹26,999 and ₹32,999. Sales began September 11 on Flipkart.
iQOO Z11xa 5G — Launched September 7
The Z11xa is a single-variant version of the iQOO Z11x, sold only as 8GB + 128GB. It costs ₹28,999, or ₹27,499 with a ₹1,500 card discount. It has a Dimensity 7400 Turbo chip, a 7,200mAh battery with 44W charging and a 6.76-inch FHD+ 120Hz LCD. The rear has a 50MP Sony camera, and the phone has IP68 and IP69 ratings with MIL-STD-810H durability. It runs OriginOS 6 with two years of OS and four years of security updates. Sales began September 14 on Amazon and iQOO.com, in Titan Black and Prismatic Green.
Redmi Note 17 Pro and Note 17 Pro Max — Launched September 15
Both phones have a 6.83-inch 1.5K 120Hz AMOLED with up to 3,500 nits and IP66/68/69/69K ratings.
- Note 17 Pro (₹36,999 for 8GB + 128GB, ₹39,999 for 8GB + 256GB): 9,000mAh battery with 67W charging and a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chip. It went on sale September 17.
- Note 17 Pro Max (₹49,999 for 8GB + 256GB, ₹55,999 for 12GB + 256GB): 10,000mAh battery with 100W charging and a Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chip. It went on sale September 23. It’s the first “Max” in the Redmi Note line.
Both promise six years of security updates, and the Pro Max gets four years of OS updates. Bank offers of up to ₹5,000 were available.
Oppo K14 Plus — Launched September 29
The K14 Plus starts at ₹29,999, with 8GB variants at ₹32,999 and ₹35,999. It has a 1.5K 144Hz AMOLED, a Dimensity 7360 MAX chip and an 8,000mAh battery. It is Oppo’s first phone in India to ship with Android 17. Sales begin October 8, the first day of Flipkart’s Big Billion Days.
Budget 5G Segment (₹15,000–₹25,000)
Infinix Hot 70 Pro 5G — Launched September 4
It starts at ₹24,999 for 6GB + 128GB, with 8GB + 128GB at around ₹27,999. It has a 6.76-inch 144Hz display, a Dimensity 7100 chip, a 50MP Sony camera and a 6,000mAh battery, with IP68 protection. It went on sale September 12 on Flipkart, in Mirage Green, Dive Blue, Silk Glow Purple and Thermo Orange.
Redmi 17 5G — Launched September 3
This is the second India phone with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 5, after the Poco M8x in August. It also has the same 7,900mAh battery, with 45W charging, and a 6.9-inch HD+ 120Hz display. Prices are ₹23,999 (6GB + 128GB) and ₹26,999 (8GB + 128GB). Sales began September 10 via Amazon and mi.com.
Lava Virat Curve 5G — Launched September 21
It costs ₹23,999, or ₹19,999 with bank offers. It has a curved AMOLED display and a small secondary screen on the back. Other specs are a Dimensity 7100 chip and a 6,000mAh battery with 45W charging. Lava also announced its own Neo UI, due on its phones in Q4 2026.
Lava Shark 2 Pro 5G — Launched September 29
This is the retail-network version of the Virat V1 Pro 5G from our August roundup, and it costs ₹16,699 instead of ₹15,999. It has a 6.75-inch HD+ 120Hz display, a Unisoc T8200 chip, a 50MP camera and a 6,000mAh battery with 18W charging. It runs Android 16 with Lava’s Vayu AI assistant, and includes free at-home service.
HMD Vibe 2 Pro 5G — Launched September 29
It costs ₹15,999, or ₹14,999 with the launch offer, and has a 6.78-inch FHD+ 120Hz display. Its other highlights are a Dimensity 6300 chip, a 64MP Sony IMX682 camera and a 6,000mAh battery. There’s no ultrawide, only a 2MP macro sensor, and HMD promises two years of security updates.
Oppo K14 Lite (4G) — Launched September 16
This 4G phone costs ₹16,999, or ₹15,999 with a bank offer. It has a Unisoc T7250 chip, a 7,000mAh battery, a 6.75-inch HD+ 120Hz display and IP64 protection. It has only a 13MP rear camera and comes with 4GB + 64GB.
OnePlus N6 Lite (4G) — Launched September 22
OnePlus’s cheapest phone of 2026 costs ₹16,999 for 4GB + 64GB, or ₹16,249 with an EMI card offer. It has a Unisoc T7250 chip, a 7,000mAh battery, a 6.75-inch HD+ 120Hz display and a 13MP camera. It runs OxygenOS 16 on Android 16, with MIL-STD-810H durability. Sales began the same day on OnePlus.in and Amazon.
Entry-Level (Under ₹15,000)
Mivi One 5G — Launched September 24
This is the first smartphone from audio brand Mivi. Prices are ₹12,999 (4GB + 128GB), ₹14,999 (6GB + 128GB, or ₹11,999 with introductory offers) and ₹16,499 (8GB + 128GB). It has a Snapdragon processor, bloatware-free software and a 6,000mAh battery. Sales start October 8 on Flipkart and in select retail stores.
Lava Bold N4 Pro 5G — Launched September 18
It costs ₹13,999 for a single 6GB + 128GB model, which Lava calls a special introductory price. It has a 6.75-inch HD+ 120Hz display, a Unisoc T8200 chip and a 6,000mAh battery with 18W charging. The rear has a 50MP AI dual camera, and the phone has an IP64 rating and Android 16. Lava includes free at-home service. It went on sale September 26 as an Amazon exclusive.
What This Month Tells Us
10,000mAh has reached the mainstream. The Poco X8 Power and Redmi Note 17 Pro Max both pair a 10,000mAh battery with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chip. The Poco costs ₹35,999 for 8GB + 128GB and the Redmi costs ₹49,999, though the Redmi’s base model has 256GB of storage.
The Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 spread quickly. It debuted in India through the Poco M8x in August, and the Redmi 17 5G, with the same 7,900mAh battery, followed within two weeks.
Sister brands are selling the same hardware. The Oppo K14 Lite and OnePlus N6 Lite both cost ₹16,999 and have almost identical specs: Unisoc T7250, 7,000mAh, 6.75-inch HD+ 120Hz and 4GB + 64GB.
Homegrown brands were busy. Lava launched three phones (Virat Curve, Bold N4 Pro and Shark 2 Pro), all with free at-home service. Mivi also made its debut.
Festive sales are shaping the calendar. The Oppo K14 Plus and Mivi One 5G both go on sale on October 8, the first day of Big Billion Days.
Launch prices may not hold. Oppo raised the Reno16 from ₹61,999 to ₹66,999 this year, and Motorola raised prices from August 25. Check the current price before you buy.
Coming in October
- Vivo V80: due in early October. Sources say October 6 or 8, so check Vivo’s announcement.
- iPhone Duo: on sale October 23.
- Oppo F35 series: reportedly due in October.
- Motorola Edge 70 Neo: confirmed for India, no date yet.
- iQOO 16: launched in China on September 29, with no India date announced.
