Apple Back to School 2026 India offer: Free AirPods, Pencil – Image
Apple’s annual Back to School sale is live in India, and this year it runs from July 16 to August 27, 2026 — a noticeably shorter window than in past years, when the promotion often stretched three months or more. If you’re a college student, a parent buying for one, or a teacher, here’s exactly what’s on offer, how to claim it, and where you can actually buy from if you’re not in Mumbai or Delhi.

What’s the Apple back to school offer 2026 in India?
The Back to School program (Apple now officially calls it the Higher Education Offer) bundles a free or discounted accessory with the purchase of an eligible Mac or iPad, on top of Apple’s standard year-round education pricing.
Buying a MacBook Air or MacBook Pro
- Promotional savings of up to Rs. 12,900
- Choose one accessory:
- AirPods 4 — Free
- AirTag 4-Pack — Free
- AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation — add Rs. 5,000
- AirPods Pro 3 — add Rs. 13,000
Buying an iPad Air or iPad Pro
- Promotional savings of up to Rs. 10,900
- Choose one accessory:
- Apple Pencil Pro — Free
- AirTag 4-Pack — add Rs. 2,000
- AirPods 4 — add Rs. 2,000
- AirPods 4 with ANC — add Rs. 7,000
- AirPods Pro 3 — add Rs. 15,000
The savings are applied instantly at checkout — you pay for the Mac or iPad plus whichever accessory you pick, with the discount already factored in. Apple is also offering free engraving on eligible accessories bought through the Apple Store Online or the Apple Store app.
This sits on top of Apple’s regular education pricing, which knocks the starting price down across the board. A few examples of what that looks like in practice:
| Product | Retail Price | Education Price |
|---|---|---|
| 13-inch MacBook Air (M5) | Rs. 1,49,900 | Rs. 1,37,900 |
| 14-inch MacBook Pro (M5) | Rs. 2,39,900 | Rs. 2,27,900 |
| 11-inch iPad Air (M4, 128GB) | Rs. 89,900 | Rs. 83,900 |
| 11-inch iPad Pro (M5, 256GB) | Rs. 1,39,900 | Rs. 1,27,900 |
That’s the base education discount — the free accessory (AirPods 4, AirTags, or Apple Pencil Pro) comes on top of these already-reduced prices.
One thing to know upfront: the offer can’t be combined with no-cost EMI or cashback promotions.
What’s not included
The Apple Back to School 2026 accessory offer doesn’t apply to every Apple product. It excludes the MacBook Neo, iPad mini, the standard (entry-level) iPad, and any of Apple’s desktop Macs (Mac mini, Mac Studio, iMac). If you buy one of these, you can still get Apple’s regular year-round education pricing — you just won’t get the free AirPods, AirTags, or Apple Pencil Pro that come with an eligible MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iPad Air, or iPad Pro.
Who’s eligible, and how do you prove it?
The offer covers:
- Current and newly accepted college students
- Parents buying a device on behalf of a college student
- Teachers and staff at all education levels
Verification works two ways:
- Online — verify through UNiDAYS or Apple’s own verification system, signed in with your Apple Account. Once verified, it’s valid for a full year.
- In-store — bring a valid student ID, an acceptance letter, or other proof of eligibility.
Where can you actually buy it?
This is the part that trips people up, especially if you’re not in a metro city.
Apple has only two physical retail stores in India — BKC in Mumbai and Saket in Delhi. If you live anywhere else, including Lucknow, your options are:
- Apple’s Education Store online (apple.com/in-edu/store) — the offer is fully available here, and this is where most readers outside Mumbai/Delhi will end up. Note that the free-accessory offer doesn’t show up on the general store landing page; it appears once you select an eligible Mac or iPad and go through checkout and eligibility verification.
- Phone orders — you can call 000800 040 1966 to place an order directly with Apple.
- Apple’s two retail stores — BKC and Saket, if you’re able to visit in person.
Some general roundups online have claimed this deal is “offline-store only” — that’s inaccurate. Apple’s own site and Apple-authorized reporting both confirm the online Education Store is a valid route to the same offer.
What about Amazon and Flipkart?
Short answer: the free-AirPods/free-Pencil Back to School bundle is not available on Amazon or Flipkart. This is an Apple education-pricing program tied to identity verification (UNiDAYS or a valid student/staff ID) through Apple’s own systems — third-party marketplaces have no way to run that verification, so they’re not part of this promotion. Any Apple deals you see on Amazon or Flipkart during this period are separate, unrelated discounts with no free-accessory bundle and no student-eligibility requirement.
The Unicorn Store alternative (for Lucknow and other non-metro buyers)
If you’re in a city without an Apple Store — Lucknow included — Unicorn Store, an Apple Authorised Reseller with outlets across India, runs its own “Mac for Students” education discount program. It’s worth knowing about, but it is a genuinely different offer from Apple’s Back to School bundle, not a local mirror of it.
How it works:
- Download Unicorn’s consent form, print it, fill it in, sign it, and scan it along with your college/institute ID and a government ID
- Select your preferred Mac model
- Complete the registration process
- Upload all your documents
- Unicorn contacts you within 24 hours to verify and process the order
Eligibility documents:
- Students must be 18+, actively studying, and provide a student ID card. New students or those without an ID card can instead submit a fee receipt, bonafide certificate, or previous year’s mark sheet.
- Teachers need an official ID card, the latest 3 months’ salary slips, or other proof of employment.
What you actually get: an additional 3–9% discount on iPads and MacBooks, stacked with Unicorn’s existing store/online pricing and seasonal offers. There’s no mention of a free AirPods, AirTags, or Apple Pencil Pro bundle — it’s a straightforward cash discount, not an accessory giveaway.
Apple Education Store vs. Unicorn Store — the key differences
| Apple Education Store | Unicorn Store | |
|---|---|---|
| Discount type | Free AirPods 4 / AirTags / Apple Pencil Pro + up to Rs. 12,900 in savings | 3–9% cash discount only |
| Free accessory | Yes | No |
| Verification | Instant online (UNiDAYS) or in-store ID | Offline consent form + document upload + manual review |
| Turnaround | Immediate at checkout | Not immediate — requires a callback and approval (up to 24 hrs to start) |
| Physical presence needed | Only for BKC/Saket in-store option | Available at Unicorn stores in most cities, including Lucknow |
If you can order online and verify through UNiDAYS, Apple’s own Education Store gets you a better deal — a free accessory plus a bigger effective discount. If you’d rather deal with a local store in person and skip online verification, Unicorn is a legitimate fallback, but go in knowing it’s a smaller, cash-only discount with a slower process.
